The Mission of the Boyz 2 Brotherhood Mentoring Network is to empower at-risk youth in communities to make positive life choices that will enable them to maximize their potential, and be creative in their own thinking.
Boyz 2 Brotherhood envisions a community in which every young man experiences a one-to-one relationship and community support, which in turn allows each of them to develop into their full potential, capable of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of our communities.
Boyz 2 Brotherhood, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2014 by a community leader, Kevin Jackson, Sr. He had a belief that many youth in their community lacked guidance and creativity, as well as academic and career guidance. Determined to see change, he convened a series of community meetings, attended by more than 20 community leaders and concerned parents. With initial financial commitments from community members and local business, he founded Boyz 2 Brotherhood as a nonprofit IRS 501(c) 3 Corporation. Since opening its doors, Boyz 2 Brotherhood has forged strong partnerships with the local business community, media, school districts, and other youth-serving organizations in the community.
